কুমিল্লার চৌদ্দগ্রামে কাভার্ডভ্যানের পিছনে দ্রুতগামী যাত্রীবাহী এনা পরিরবহনের বাসের ধাক্কায় দুইজন নিহত ও অপর ৮-৯ জন আহত হয়েছেন।
শনিবার দিবাগত রাত দুইটায় ঢাকা-চট্টগ্রাম মহাসড়কের জগন্নাথদীঘির দক্ষিণ পাড়ে এ ঘটনা ঘটে।
নিহতরা হলেন; কাভার্ডভ্যান চালক চট্টগ্রামের সিতাকুন্ড পৌরসভার পশ্চিম মহাদেবপুর এলাকার সোবহানবাগ গ্রামের মৃত হারুনুর রশিদের ছেলে আবদুল কাদের(৪৬) ও বাসের সুপারভাইজার ঢাকা শহরের মিরপুর পল্লবীর আবদুল হাকিম সরকারের ছেলে মোঃ রাসেল(৩৫)। তথ্যটি নিশ্চিত করেছেন মিয়াবাজার হাইওয়ে পুলিশ ফাঁড়ির সেকেন্ড অফিসার এসআই ছিদ্দিকুর রহমান।
জানা গেছে, ঢাকা থেকে চট্টগ্রামমুখী এনা পরিবহনের যাত্রীবাহী বাস(ঢাকামেট্রো-ব-১৫-৩৪৯৪) শনিবার দিবাগত রাত দুইটায় মহাসড়কের জগন্নাথদীঘির দক্ষিণ পাড়ে কাভার্ডভ্যান(চট্টমেট্রো-ট-১১-৭২৪৩)-কে পিছন থেকে স্বজোরে ধাক্কা দেয়। এতে এনা বাসের সামনের অংশ দুমড়ে মুচড়ে যায়।
ঘটনাস্থলে বাসের সুপারভাইজার মোঃ রাসেল ও ধাক্কায় বিকট শব্দের কারণে লাফ দিয়ে কাভার্ডভ্যানের নিচে পড়ে চালক আবদুল কাদেরের মৃত্যু হয়।
খবর পেয়ে মিয়াবাজার হাইওয়ে পুলিশ ও চৌদ্দগ্রাম ফায়ার সার্ভিস কর্মীরা দুর্ঘটনা কবলিত গাড়ি ও লাশ উদ্ধার শেষে ফাঁড়িতে নিয়ে যায়। আহতদের উদ্ধার শেষে স্থানীয় হাসপাতালে প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসা দেয়া হয়েছে।
