চট্টগ্রাম লায়ন্স ক্লাবের উদ্যোগের বান্দরবানের আলীকদমে বিনামূল্যে ছয় শতাধিক মানুষের চক্ষু ও ডায়াবেটিক রোগের চিকিৎসা করা হয়েছে। দরিদ্র রোগীদেরকে ওষুধ ও চোখের চশমা দেয়া হয় ও লায়ন্স ক্লাব এর অন্যান্য সংগঠনের সহযোগিতায়, আলীকদম জোনের সার্বিক তত্বাবধানে এই চিকিৎসা সেবা প্রদান করা হয়। শনিবার সকাল ৯টা থেকে বিকাল চারটা পর্যন্ত প্রায় ছয়শ’ মানুষকে এই সেবা দেয়া হয়। আলীকদম উপজেলার চৈক্ষ্যং মৈত্রী সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে এ চিকিৎসা ক্যাম্পের আয়োজন করা হয়। স্থানীয় বিভিন্ন গোত্রের নারী-পুরুষা সুশৃঙ্খল পরিবেশে এ চিকিৎসা সেবা গ্রহণ করেন। আলীকদম জোনের আবাসিক মেডিকেল অফিসার ক্যাপ্টেন ডা: মো: সাদমান সিফাত, চক্ষু বিশেষজ্ঞ ডা. সোমেন তালুকদার, ডা: অরবিন্দু, ডা: রেজাউল, ডা: সেলিম ও ডা: মুন্না রোগিদেরেকে নিবিড় পর্যবেক্ষণ করেন। চক্ষু অপারেশন রোগিদের কয়েজনকে চট্টগ্রাম লায়ন্স চক্ষু হসপিটালে স্থানান্তরের পর লায়ন্স এর উদ্যাগে অপারেশন করা হবে বলে সংশ্লিষ্টরা জানান। আলীকদম জোনের উপ-অধিনায়ক মেজর মো: সাজ্জাদ হোসেন এ চিকিৎসা ক্যাম্পের উদ্বোধন করেন। এসময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন জাতীয় শুটার কমনওয়েল্থ গেম্স-এ প্রথম স্বর্ণপদক প্রাপ্ত আতিকুর রহমান, উদ্যাক্তা সাইফুদ্দিন জালালী, আলীকদম অফিসার ইনচার্জ কাজী রকিব উদ্দিন, জোন জেসিও ওয়ারেন্ট অফিসার মো: মহিদুল ইসলাম। এছাড়াও লায়ন জোন চেয়ারপার্সন লায়ন্স ক্লাব ইন্টারন্যাশনাল চট্টগ্রাম এর লায়ন মো: আবদুল মান্নান, জেলা চেয়ারপার্সন লায়ন মোহাম্মদ হোসেন রানা ও লায়ন ইঞ্জিনিয়ার মুজিবুর রহমান, লায়ন ফাহিমা আক্তার, সরোয়ার আজম, এনায়েত হোসেন, আরশাদুর রহমান, মো: রেজাউল ইসলাম ভূইয়া, হাবিবুর রহামান, মো: রাকিব উদ্দিন চৌধুরী, চৈক্ষ্যং ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান ফেরদৌস রহমান, সার্ক মানবাধিকার ফাউন্ডেশন বান্দরবানের সেক্রেটারী এম রুহুল আমিন ও লামা প্রেসক্লাব সেক্রেটারী-সার্ক মানবাধিকার ফাউন্ডেশন লামা শাখার সভাপতি মো.কামরুজ্জামান, আলীকদম সাংবাদিক বৃন্দ, চৈক্ষ্যং ইউপির প্যানেল চেয়ারম্যান রুহুল আমিন, স্থানীয় উদ্যাক্তা মো: খলিলুর রহমান প্রমুখ উপস্থিত ছিলেন
