আসন্ন ২০ জুলাই অনুষ্ঠিত হবে জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ছাত্রলীগের সম্মেলন।আর,এই সম্মেলন উপলক্ষে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ক্যাম্পাসে মহড়া ও বিভিন্ন মানবিক কর্মকান্ডের মাধ্যমে নিজেদের অবস্থান জানান দিচ্ছেন পদ প্রত্যাশীরা।পদপ্রত্যাশী নেতারা নিজস্ব গ্রুপের কর্মীদের নিয়ে প্রতিদিন ক্যাম্পাস প্রদক্ষিণ করছেন।
সভাপতি-সাধারণ সম্পাদক পদে প্রার্থী হিসাবে অনেকের নামই বেশ জোরেশোরে শোনা যাচ্ছে।তারা নিয়মিত ক্যাম্পাসে শোডাউনের পাশাপাশি ডাকসু ভবন,মধুর ক্যান্টিন ও আওয়ামীলীগের কেন্দ্রীয় কার্যালয়ে লবিং চালিয়ে যাচ্ছেন।
পদপ্রার্থী হিসাবে আলোচনায় রয়েছেন গত কমিটির সহ-সভাপতি ও সম্মেলন প্রস্তুতি কমিটির আহ্বায়ক আশরাফুল আলম টিটন,গত কমিটির সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক ও যুগ্ম আহ্বায়ক ইবরাহীম ফরাজী,যুগ্ম আহ্বায়ক ও সাবেক সহ-সভাপতি জামাল উদ্দিন,সৈয়দ শাকিল,যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক হোসনে মুবারক রিশাদ,নাজমুল আলম,তারেক আজীজ,সহ-সভাপতি আল আমিন শেখ,উপ-মুক্তিযুদ্ধ বিষয়ক সম্পাদক(শরীফ-সিরাজ কমিটি) নাহিদ পারভেজ,সম্মেলন প্রস্তুতি কমিটির সদস্য আদম সাইফুল্লাহ,শেখ মেহেদী হাসান,সাবেক সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক নুরুল আফসার,উপ-আন্তর্জাতিক সম্পাদক (শরীফ-সিরাজ কমিটি) সৈকতুর রহমান,সাবেক সহ-সম্পাদক খন্দকার অমিত হাসান,আক্তার হোসেন, আসাদুজ্জামান আসাদ,আসাদুল্লাহ আসাদ।
এছাড়াও আলোচনায় রয়েছেন সাবেক দপ্তর সম্পাদক শাহবাজ হোসেন বর্ষণ,মোল্লা আনোয়ার হোসেন,নূর-ই-আলম,মেহেদী বাবু।
উল্লেখ্য যে, প্রায় পাঁচ মাস ধরে জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ছাত্রলীগের কোনো কমিটি নেই।গত ৩ ফেব্রুয়ারি প্রেম ঘটিত তুচ্ছ কারণে সংঘর্ষে জড়ায় ছাত্রলীগের সাবেক সভাপতি শেখ তরিকুল ইসলাম ও শেখ জয়নুল আবেদিন রাসেলের কর্মীরা।এরপর কেন্দ্রীয় ছাত্রলীগ জবি ছাত্রলীগের কমিটি স্থগিত করে।এরপর ১৮ ফেব্রুয়ারি উভয় গ্রুপের দিনব্যাপী সংঘর্ষে সাংবাদিক সহ ৪০ জন আহত হয়।পরে পুলিশ টিয়ারশেল নিক্ষেপ করে পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনে।পরদিন ১৯ ফেব্রুয়ারি কমিটি বিলুপ্ত ঘোষণা করে কেন্দ্রীয় ছাত্রলীগ।
